The N-Peace network – working to the leadership of women in conflict prevention, dispute resolution, reconstruction and peace building at the regional, national and community levels – is seeking nominations for the N-Peace Awards 2012.
These awards aim to profile leading women peace builders across all N-Peace network countries; Nepal, Sri Lanka, Timor-Leste, Indonesia and two new countries to the network in 2012, the Philippines and Afghanistan.
This year the awards will profile:
Role models for peace: this is to recognize the untiring efforts of women across all N-Peace Network countries, who have demonstrated capacity and experience in the field of conflict resolution and prevention and peace building.
Emerging peace champions: this is to support the emerging leadership of young women who can motivate other young people to get involved in peace building.
N-Peace Awards 2012 for women and men working for peace: this is to support the efforts of men who champion women’s rights and gender equality in their communities and countries.
