Human rights workshop offers grants for journalists

Journalists can apply for a grant to attend a human rights workshop and council in Switzerland.

The GMedia Center will host a week-long human rights workshop in Geneva, in preparation for the Human Rights Council Universal Periodic Review (UPR), where countries like Algeria, Ecuador, Morocco, and Tunisia, among others, will have their human rights reports examined.

During the workshop, journalists participate in debates and discussions conducted by human rights experts from academia, media, UN agencies and international NGOs.

Journalists then attend and report on the UPR session concerning their respective countries and take part in press conferences and side events.

There workshop is free, but only qualified journalists will be chosen to receive grant sponsorship. Apply by April 30.
