Fellowship sends journalists to Japan

Deadline:

01/09/11
Journalists interested in meeting the Kyoto Prize Laureates in Japan can apply for a fellowship.
Point Loma Nazarene University is accepting applications for its 2011 Kyoto Prize Journalism Fellowship.
“Each year this fellowship connects journalists with the Kyoto Prize laureates — remarkable men and women who have dedicated their lives to bettering society through technology, science and the arts,” said Dr. Bob Brower, president, Point Loma Nazarene University. “The opportunity to learn from the world’s great thought leaders, innovators and creative masters represents an inimitable experience for a journalist.”
The Kyoto Prize is presented each year by Japan’s non-profit Inamori Foundation to individuals and groups worldwide who have demonstrated outstanding contributions to the betterment of society.
The selected journalist will travel to Kyoto, Japan, November 7-14, 2011, where he or she will attend the 27th annual Kyoto Prize presentation ceremony, lectures and workshops. The journalist will have opportunities to meet and interview the latest laureates of the Kyoto Prize, Japan’s highest private award for global achievement.
The fellowship covers transportation, accommodations and per-diem expenses. The deadline for applications is Sept. 1.
Applications are available here.
