Professional journalists, producers and editors worldwide can apply for a week-long fellowship in Boston.

Sponsored by the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI), the Ocean Science Journalism Fellowship is designed to introduce journalists to the wide-ranging field of ocean engineering. The fellowship will be held September 8-13.

The program will offer seminars, lab visits and field expeditions. Topics to be covered include marine biology, geology, marine chemistry and physical oceanography.

Previous fellows include journalists from the International Herald Tribune, Discover magazine, The New York Times and more.

The program is open to professional writers, producers and editors with at least two years of experience. Fellows receive a travel allowance and accommodation for the week. Apply by May 17.
