Cartoonists worldwide can participate in a contest celebrating press freedom.
The Doha Centre for Media Freedom (DCMF) has organized its DCMF World Press Freedom Cartoon Contest.
The DCMF aims to honor the bravery and creativity of courageous cartoonists and journalists who use their work to speak out against restrictions imposed on the media and society. Topics can include censorship, crackdowns on media outlets and attacks on journalists.
Each participant can contribute only one cartoon to the competition, which should address a media freedom or censorship issue from 2012 - 2013.
Cash prizes of US$1,500, US$1,000 and US$800 will be awarded to the three winners.
The submission deadline is April 1.
