Young journalists interested in promoting democracy are invited to submit essays on the theme to a contest. The deadline is October 18, and two global winners will be announced in February.
The contest, sponsored by the World Youth Movement for Democracy, aims to promote personal engagement in democracy, and highlight the role of the youth movement. Applicants should explore how youth activists have contributed to human rights and democracy in their communities.
Winners will have the opportunity to participate in the Community of Democracies Ministerial Meeting in Lithuania in July.
