South Asian journalists reporting on environmental issues can apply for the Green Technology Journalism Awards. The deadline to apply is December 31.
The competition, sponsored by the German engineering firm Siemens, will award journalists in three categories: energy efficiency, industrial productivity and sustainability. There is also a young journalist category for students.
Journalists from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) working in print or online media are eligible to apply. Articles must be published between January 1 and December 31, 2010, and will be judged in English. First prize winners will receive EU€1,000 (US$1,287) and a trip to attend a seminar in Berlin.
