Southeast Asian journalists are encouraged to apply for a month-long fellowship that will examine the efforts of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) to create "One Community" in the region. Deadline: May 17.

The fellowship, the Southeast Asian Press Alliance's (SEAPA) 2010 Journalism Fellowship, is open to journalists with at least five years professional experience in print, broadcast or online news media.

Fellows will propose a topic under the theme, "An ASEAN Community by 2015: Vision or Delusion?," and explore this topic in an ASEAN country. Fellows will be required to produce and publish a major journalistic piece in their home news publication.

Applications consist of a proposal no longer than 1,000 words, two sample articles, a CV and written consent to participate from current employers. The fellowship will take place from June 20 to July 17. SEAPA will cover travel, accommodations, meals and other related expenses.
