Investigative journalism conference calls for papers

Journalism academics worldwide can submit their papers to be presented at the Global Investigative Journalism Conference.

The eighth Global Investigative Journalism Conference, to be held October 12-15 in Rio de Janeiro, will feature for the first time an academic research track, highlighting trends, challenges, teaching methodologies and best practices in investigative journalism.

Topics of research papers will be considered but not limited to trends in computer-assisted reporting and data journalism, trends in investigative reporting, challenges related to country or culture, successful teaching methods and adapting investigative journalism to new technologies.

If a topic is accepted, the paper’s length is limited to 15 pages (excluding references, tables and appendices). Papers must follow APA format, and can be written in English, Portuguese or Spanish.

The deadline is July 15.
