Wind Power Development and Use, International Training programme

Qualified candidates are invited to participate in International Training Programme which will be based upon the use of renewable energy sources. English language proficiency is highly preferred during this training programme. This program will be held in Karlstad, Stockholm and Falkenberg,Sweden (Part I) and India (Part II).

Sweden also has extensive experience of using various policy measures in order to promote sustainable energy and reduce impact of energy use on the environment. The overall objective of the programme is to contribute to capacity building and increased understanding of the importance of wind power and other renewable energy sources among strategic organisations in the participants home countries. The programme aims at poverty reduction and sustainable development through increased availability of electricity from renewable sources for poor men, women and children.

The programme is divided into five interlinked modules-
  • Sustainable Energy Systems
  • Wind Power – Basic Knowledge
  • Planning and Decision Making Processes for Establishing Wind Power Plants
  • Management, Organisation and Economy of Wind Power Plants
  • Change Project and Processes of Change
Eligibility & Criteria-
  • The programme is primarily intended for decision makers, planners, trainers, managers and specialists in a position to initiate and implement changes within the energy sector in their country
  • Candidates representing government organisations, private companies or nGos at national or local level are welcome to apply
  • The candidates should hold an academic degree or having equivalent knowledge and have at least five years of professional working experience. To achieve a good gender balance, applications from qualified women are especially welcome.
  • The training programme will be organised and conducted in English and consequently high proficiency in the English language is required
How to apply?
  • Application is to be made on the special form attached and include a recent photograph and all required information and documents. The applicant must be nominated by her/his organization or institution. When necessary, the application is to be approved by the official nominating authority in the country. The application is to be submitted to the nearest Swedish Embassy/ Consulate. If there is no Swedish Embassy/Consulate in the applicant´s country, the application should be sent directly to the Programme Secretariat. Selected applicants will be notified by e-mail.
