The 2012 International Ramadan Photography Competition is seeking entries that represent the religious and cultural aspects of Ramadan.
The non-profit initiative, themed "Capture the Spirit of Ramadan," is funded by StudioBasel for Creative Solutions. The photographs will be judged based on impact, message, creativity and photographic quality technique.
Photographers above the age of 18 can submit their work until the last day of Ramadan. The winners will receive cash prizes ranging from US$500 to US$2,000.
Amateur and professional photographers from the Islamic world can participate in this competition.
The estimated application deadline is August 18 (last day of Ramadan).
