Reporters and freelancers from the developing world and countries in transition can submit works to the 2010 Kurt Schork Memorial Awards, which reward high-quality writing and investigative efforts, as well as reporters' courage and resourcefulness. Deadline: July 13.
Both categories (local reporters covering local issues and international freelancer covering international issues) come with a $5,000 cash prize. All print media and established online publications are accepted. Blogs and personal websites are not eligible.
